Advancing Medical Education Through Research. In Partnership with UWA.

CTEC facilitates a number of research activities into surgical simulation in conjunction with the Medical School at The University of Western Australia.

CTEC's research activities are published across a range of scholarly and refereed journals, contributing to the broader body of knowledge in surgical simulation and medical education both nationally and internationally.

CTEC's current research projects include:

  • Proficiency-based progression
  • Metric assessment of surgical skills
  • Novel curriculum development
  • Development of surgical simulations including laparoscopic skills and fresh frozen cadavers
  • Validation studies
