This highly practical workshop will provide the participants with sustained hands-on experience in aspects of microsurgery and microvascular anastomosis. Participants will receive a detailed introduction to setting up a microscope for microsurgery and gain familiarity and proficiency in knot tying using microinstruments, microsutures and animal tissue models. Workshop participants will return to their hospitals with enhanced practical experience in anastomotic techniques and basic knowledge about microvascular procedures. There will be one participant per surgical station.
The practical sessions will be followed by a fluid pressure assessment of the participants’ anastomotic model/s.
